Away Resorts is a caravan park operator headquartered in Hemel Hempstead. The strategy is to develop Away Resorts as a platform to support and develop a portfolio of caravan parks. The UK Caravan Park industry remains highly fragmented, presenting an excellent consolidation opportunity.
The first park acquistion was Whitecliff Bay, completed in February 2008. This is a "tariff biased" park located on the North East coast of the Isle of Wight.
In November 2009, Away Resorts also acquired Tattershall Lakes, an "owner-biased" park set in an estate of 360 acres of woodland, lakes and open spaces and located approximately 20 miles inland from the Lincolnshire coast.
In September 2010, Away Resorts further acquired Mill Rythe, a catered chalet park situated on Hayling Island.
All three parks have significant potential for development.
